Nilstat Replacement - Vector

Carla Smith is working on a long term project to replace Nilstat relays.

Nilstat relays are installed throughout substations in the Vector network, but have reached the end of their cerebral life. The project started nearly five years ago, and the final substation designs are being completed now.

“The new relays utilised a new communications protocol (IEC61850) which hasn’t been used by Vector before,” comments Carla. “So we had to make sure that the design worked for the new protocol and also created drawings that could be adopted by Vector as a standard.”

This was the first project that Ergo did for Vector.
