Ross is a highly experienced designer who specialises in the detailed design of new high and medium high voltage installations and retrofits. His particular expertise is in the design of protection, metering, DC chargers, SCADA panels and switchgear. He is also a skilled conceptual designer of protection schemes and SCADA networks. Ross is responsible for training Ergo's graduate engineers in detailed design, and is involved in creating in-house standard templates and procedures. In addition to design work, he undertakes project management.

Ross is a formally trained draughtsman and AutoCAD designer. He joined Ergo in 2004 as a CAD designer. In 2008 he moved to the Power Systems department, where he undertakes project management as well as design.

With over twenty-five years in power systems, Ross has worked in industries as varied as building services, geographical information systems, boat building, hydro-generation and wind farms. He has worked as site draughtsman on the Clyde Dam project, and as substation designer for the channel tunnel between the United Kingdom and France.
