Chris founded Ergo in 2003 after more than twenty-five years in the electrical engineering industry. As an engineer he has a talent for conceptual design. He has the ability to quickly scope a project to create workable conceptual documents that can be understood and used by all members of a project team. As a director of Ergo he is passionate about the company's culture - always seeking ways for it to reflect the value he places on integrity, good relationships, innovation and best practice.

Carla is a founding staff member of Ergo, and the head of the Power Systems department since 2009. She has more than ten years' power systems experience.

Ross Dodd - Senior Designer

"Two decades working in power systems, particularly the practical aspects of electrical fit-outs and maintenance, have given me considerable design experience."

Ross is a highly experienced designer who specialises in the detailed design of new high and medium voltage installations and retrofits. His particular expertise is in the design of protection, metering, DC chargers, SCADA panels and switchgear. He is also a skilled conceptual designer of protection schemes and SCADA networks. Ross is responsible for training Ergo's graduate engineers in detailed design, and is involved in creating in-house standard templates and procedures. In addition to design work, he undertakes project management.

Azam Khan - Power Systems Engineer

Azam has extensive design experience. He has worked on detailed primary and secondary design for 33kV and 11kV substations, with ripple plants a particular specialty. He is also skilled at design phase project management. Protection, circuit breaker and ripple plant upgrades are some of the projects he has been involved in at Ergo.

Amrita is responsible for detailed power systems design (specifically in the areas of protection upgrades and substation auxiliary panels), peer review of protection setting and project management. She also assists in conceptual design.

Steve is the company's protection specialist. He is experienced in all aspects of protection design as well as power systems fault analysis, relay configuration and setting for the distribution, and on-site commissioning.

Maria Kobe

"Being thorough and analytical enables me to add value to projects."

Maria's expertise in network engineering is a welcome addition to Ergo's skill base. Using Electrical Power Systems Analysis (ETAP) software, she is working on network modelling and design, load flow and earthing studies. She has strong analytical skills honed by a background in academia.

Soumya Sridhara

Soumya joined Ergo in 2010 as a graduate engineer. She assists the Power Systems team on a range of detailed design projects, including the design of RTU replacements, 11kV circuit breakers, new 11kV switchrooms, and auxiliary panels.

Liam Doar

Liam moved to the Power Systems department as a Senior Designer in September 2011. The move was a natural progression, allowing him to take on engineering challenges and further his design expertise. His first project has been the detailed design of a thirty-eight bay 33kV Switchboard.

Shankaran Pillay

As a graduate engineer, Shankaran's first task at Ergo has been to check the quality of design for various power systems projects. Shankaran is passionate about power systems engineering. He believes his commerce degree, and the sales skills he acquired while completing his double degree, help him to see engineering in a broader context.

Ergo accredited IPENZ Professional Development Partner - Nov 2011

In November 2011 the IPENZ Standards & Accreditation Board accepted Ergo's application as a Professional Development Partner (PDP). There are currently only 35 other companies which hold this accreditation.
